blur sera récompensé par un "Outstanding Contribution to Music award" lors de la cérémonie des BRIT Awards 2012.

Alex James a évoqué il y a quelques jours dans le NME une rencontre du groupe avant Noël. Il juge probable le fait que le groupe ré-enregistre, sans parler d'album toutefois... Pendant ce temps, ça bouge du côté du site officiel qui est en cours de refonte complète. blur s'est aussi doté d'un compte twitter officiel.

Je ne suis pas sûr qu'on ait moyen de voir ça de france, en streaming ou en catch up sans moyen détourné... On aura droit j'espère a un post sur le youtube officiel ou a un enregistrement de nos amis britanniques sur le forum off.
Au passage Direct Star a annoncé une diffusion exclusive en France de la céremonie... mais en avril !

Blur look set to make a huge “live” announcement tonight with rumours circulating that the Britpop icons will headline London's Hyde Park this Summer.

According to a post on Blur's Official Facebook Page, the announcement is set to take place tonight, 20th February, at midnight. The post read: “Brits Day tomorrow. Main show on ITV1....continuing on ITV2 afterwards. Live news at midnight tonight.....as usual you will hear it here first.”

Blur are to play the longest live set in the history of the BRIT Awards tomorrow night after they are honoured with the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award. The Blur set is to be 11 minutes, longer than another other past recipient of the award.

Speaking about the forthcoming record-breaking performance, 2012 BRIT Awards host James Corden told The Sun newspaper: "Blur will perform for 11 minutes at the end of the show - more than anyone has been given before for the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award."
