The record has been recorded by the new group which features The Clash's bassist Paul Simonon, former Verve man and auxiliary Blur guitarist Simon Tong and drummer Tony Allen along with Albarn.

nme.com a écrit :The Clash bassist Paul Simonon has spoken for the first time about how he got involved with Damon Albarn's new band.
The Gorillaz chief has collaborated with Simonon, former Verve and Blur guitarist Simon Tong and Fela Kuti drummer Tony Allen on the 'The Good, The Bad and The Queen', which is due out in January 2007.
Speaking about the project Simonon said that as soon as he heard the music he decided to get involved.
He said: "I came down to listen to two tracks, and I could hear a bassline for it immediately. We thought let's give it a go and we basically started from that and we started a whole new record."
Albarn has been working on the album, which has been produced by Gnarls Barkley's Dangermouse, for the last two years.
They plan to release a single and appear for a live date at the revamped Camden Roundhouse in October.

“I thought just as an experiment, how would Tony and Paul sound together?” Damon Albarn.
The Good, The Bad and The Queen is a new project featuring Damon Albarn, Paul Simonon, Tony Allen and Simon Tong.
Damon Albarn first worked with Tony Allen (Fela Kuti) in 2002, two years later Tony and Simon Tong (The Verve) joined Damon at Aphrodisia studios in Lagos for two weeks of recording.
In 2005 Damon met with Paul Simonon (The Clash) to discuss the idea of working together. Damon invited Paul to hear what they’d made in Nigeria. “I came down to listen to two tracks, and I could hear a bassline for it immediately”. Paul started working with Damon, Tony and Simon, “we thought lets give it a go… and we basically started from that… and we started a whole new record.”
They are due to play a live date at the Roundhouse in Camden later this year and a single is slated for release around this time. The album, produced by Dangermouse The Good, The Bad and The Queen, is due out in 2007.
